Are we ready for a black president?
Far be it from me to be a hater, but I have to admit that when I heard of Barrack Obama running for the Democratic Party nomination I thought, who is this unknown trying to be president when Hillary Clinton, wife of the first black president is the runaway candidate.
Throughout the Democratic campaign, I supported Hillary because I believe in the issues and all I had heard from Obama was preaching to crowds of black people who would vote for him if he was Adolf Hitler because he was black. I knew Hillary was a big part of Bill Clinton’s presidency and that there was a history of a Clinton helping the country’s economy boom after a Bush messed it up.
Fast Forward, Obama humilliated Hillary like the Celtics humiliated the Lakers. The only difference is that Kobe is laying low until the Olympics and Hillary is on the campaign trail for Obama. Trading her dignity for donations from Obama followers to help her pay off her campaign debt. Really though, how funny is that? A white woman demeaning herself so a black man can pay off her debt. But back to the topic.
I never thought a black rookie senator who basically earned his first office by getting his competition taken off the ballot, then earned his senate seat by mysterious leaked documents forcing his opponent (who was leading) to leave the race, would be a possible president. That doubt was doubled by the fact that in my personal life, any black person placed in charge of anything was a bad leader. I was also concerned by the fact that Obama had only done a lot of preaching, and pausing to make sure he speaks clearly and doesn’t sound like one of us, and not alot of talking about issues.
Well, when I started paying attention, I realized that he really is one of us, rather than just a puppet. He plays basketball, and was a basketball player in high school. Search YouTube for Obama basketball to see for yourself…Ol’ boy ain’t bad for a 46 year old. I also found out his church is a U.C.C. (United Church of Christ) church. My last home church was a U.C.C. church (Antioch U.C.C. in Suffolk, VA) and I grew up in that church.

Finding out we had these things in common got me to look up the facts on BarackObama.com and
basically, the only issues he has that conflict with mine are the fact that his tax relief plan goes to the middle class (How many of the black people in the hood that are 100% Obama are middle class?) Another problem is the fact that he wants to fix the illegal immigration problem. I have worked with some of those guys and they are the only people I have ever met that work hard all the time like I do. I have so much respect for them that I’d hate to see Mexicans get trapped in Mexico. All they want is to come here, work hard and support their families and we’re treating them like criminals. If the American Indians had done that, we wouldn’t be here today.
Other than those issues, I say VOTE OBAMA in ’08. He really is one of us and we do need a change. Check out Obama’s issues and Blueprint For Change, and get informed at BarackObama.com .
