Well, the verdict is still out, but it looks like Barack Obama is gonna be your president for te next 4 years. Fortunately for me, because of a mistake I made in the past, I can’t vote this time, so it’s your burden when his administration is going against the fundamentals of our society for four years. I do thank the ‘arrogant jerk’ for making me look at myself and discover that I’m a Liberal Republican.
It seems as long as the democratic candidate has good ideas, I have no problem with them, but when their entire campaign is based on putting down the other party and then sprinkling in plans that don’t effect me, then it just works on my nerves and just as democrats are blindly partisan, I become fundamentally partisan. As I write this, Barack Obama is on television, again talking about helping the middle class, whom I could really care less about.
According to his website, I live in poverty, and thus don’t make enough money to matter, although, I plan on earning my way to the upper class, at which point I don’t want anyone taking 39% of my money and then bragging about spreading the wealth and trying to sugar-coat things by saying that 39% is as low as it was in 1990. That’s 39% of what I am working hard and stressing myself out for right now, being planned to be spread around to people who aren’t trying to do the same.
As far as I’m concerned, the middle class is just a bus station on the way to the upper class. Those who get stuck there, need to go back to school. On the other hand, I’m not ultra conservative. I don’t believe in a lot of government, but you have to regulate things. I mean seriously, when the Democrats were literally “pissed off” that Republicans wanted to regulate Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac because Democrats thought it was necessary to force banks to give out more bad loans to (black?) people who couldn’t afford to own homes, it was just common sense that the president should have forced the regulation through.
At the same time, abortion is necessary (especially as long as their are women who are insecure enough to get pregnant to try to keep a man), and since black men are downtrodden by the obligation to take care of kids that they don’t want. Call me crazy, but there should be an option to ask for an abortion and if the mother doesn’t want one, she forfeits all child support. Some people just aren’t good parents and forcing them to be parents just puts people who can’t support themselves in prison for not being able to support someone else.
Another liberal view of mine, I believe in gun control. I don’t even feel safe around knives, so why should people who are cold-hearted enough to kill people, be able to easily get guns. Oh well, if I didn’t have skeletons in my closet I’d run myself one day, but since I can’t, I’ll support Sarah Palin in ’12. I’m going to start contributing and working on November 6, 2008.
