RE: Rand Paul: The same old story
I woke up today and poured a bowl of cereal and began to read the newspaper as any American might. I got to the editorial section and saw a story titled “Rand Paul: The same old story from the Miami Herald“. I read the article and it was clear the writer just doesn’t understand what Libertarian values entail. As a black Libertarian I felt the desire to respond to the author, one Leonard Pitts Jr with the followi email. Hopefully there has been some education and progress for another weak minded person who pushes the values that have kept black people from progressing as Americans.
As a black Libertarian I am offended by your recent article joking on my beliefs by calling Rand Paul a racist for his beliefs. I can tell that you have the red lips of those who have been in the Obama Kool Aid. Just because you don’t get OUR beliefs, it doesn’t mean you should demean us in your writing. There is already enough of that going on.Â
If you take the true meaning of what Rand said it is purely ideologically correct. To take it to the opposite extreme of the racist stretch of the imagination you reached for, when government restriction of our rights is taken out of the equation even you could do whatever you want as a business owner. Based on the racist tone of your article I’d say you hate white people. Based on Libertarian values you would have the right to open a restaurant and exclude white people from service. It would be your right, though as a business owner it would be foolhardy unless your restaurant is in the projects where only black people would be patrons anyway.Â
Even in that case you’d be losing money on the occasional Eminem wanna be who decides he wants some chicken. But you’d have the right to make such a poor business decision without having to worry about being sued by weak minded people who don’t get the idea that if you don’t like the restaurant you can just not eat there. There is probably a Popeye’s chicken on the next corner that will serve white people anyway.
It pains me to see that in this world people would rather be mentally weak and dependent on others than mentally strong and independent, but that is the problem when people forget what capitalism is about and decide social agendas should be pushed on the masses by government.Â
I’ll go ahead and debunk your debate that without civil rights legislation black people would be discriminated against before you begin it. It’s not the 60s anymore. The president is partially black. My best friend lives in the projects and his son only dates sexy white girls even though his high school is mostly black. Justin Beiber is nominated for a BET award and supported by Ludacris. That time has passed and now we have to move past racism toward the future. There has to be a time where OUR achievements aren’t special because WE are black, but they are special achievements that happen to be made by black people. Until we move past the point of mentally handicapping ourselves with socialist liberal agendas and become mentally strong capitalists we may as well put the shackles on ourselves and sell our race back into slavery because progress has to come from the outside and within. LEARN!
