The Worst Kind of Democrat is a Black Democrat
It’s sad that 99% of black people are democrats but for no real reason. They get caught up in the retoric and believe they are entitled to be propped up by the government to make up the achievement gap instead of getting there through personal responsibility. Not only do Democrats reinforce the entitlement and try to mandate it through the government, but they continue to depress black people by assuming that our worst enemy isn’t ourselves, but some pale skinned boogeyman with a Republican party membership.
The worst kind of democrat is a black democrat because he not only misleads Americans into complacency and underachieving, he gives black people a sense of entitlement of “I don’t have to work hard and make good choices to get what I need in life. I have a black ____ in office to make the government give it to me.”
Even worse is the fact that not all black people are underachievers, but you have the people like Oprah who have been exceptional people, but want black people to feel entitled. We fail at having personal responsibility for our futures and our actions for the most part. Me personally, I know I’m on the right path and I might fail, and I’ll be happy with that. I’ll take advantage of any opportunity I find but if I don’t get where I need to be in life it’s not because the government is evil and republicans hate black people. It’s because I failed as a human being.
As for health care. I haven’t had any insurance for years and it’s my fault for settling for what black people advised me were “good jobs that pay good money” instead of going after a real good job. I’m almost there now but if I die before I get insurance it’s my fault. I just have to take care and be responsible with my money and plan for emergencies. I had the misfortune of graduating college at a time when the economy is bad, but I’m not scared because of the circumstances. I just have to survive until the next boom and then get as much as I can and live at the right level so that when the next crunch happens I have money to spend to survive and prosper until the next boom.
If only our politicians would be more responsible to us as black people, we would not continue to fail ourselves while blaming others for our faults.

I am a black democrat. I do not believe that I (or anyone else – black or white) am “entitled” to anything. Personal responsibility is the most important idea in the world to me, because I know that if I fail in this life…I have no one to blame but myself.
In my 42 years of life, no person..black or white has ever tried to mislead me to “settle” for their idea of a good job. If that is what you let “black people” “advise” you (so you say), then you’re right…that was your fault. You have to think for yourself and not let ANYBODY tell you what to do – you can listen to advice, but be sure to use your own intelligence and research skills before you make any decision. That ought to be plain common sense.
Again, I am a black democrat and I do not think the way you suggested in your post “The Worst Kind of Democrat is a Black Democrat,” nor do I know any black democrats with the crazy ideology you wrote about. The only people who feel that they are “entitled” to something are lazy, and intellectually inferior…and you cannot characterize that type of mentality on all black democrats. If you’re going to make blanket statements, make sure that they are at least somewhat correct – you’re way off base.
Common sense tells me if we as black people would be more responsible for ourselves, then we would not continue to fail – it is not up to the government, it’s up to us – each and every one of us.
Are you sure you are a democrat. You sure don’t sound like it. Do you know what it means to be a democrat? Entitlements, big government and over spending to pay for it. Taking your rights from you because the government knows better than you. Just a few things. I think you’re really probably a black moderate republican. Oh and by the way, Obamacare is nothing but an entitlement. So if you support democrats, you support entitlements.
When I was ten the ‘Great Society’ programs were being established. I had just learned about how after the Civil War Black Americans had been forced into share cropping which robbed them of any means to accrue capital, and escape their indenturedness. I saw clearly at ten, that Black Americans were entering higher education, and their was a growing middle class of black entrepreneurs and professionals. But, my perception of Lyndon Johnsons’ motivation was that he believed that Black America did not have the strength to join in the prosperity that was rampant in those days. In creating ‘The Great Society’ government programs he was institutionalizing share cropping dependency at the federal level. This understanding has always grieved me. The results have been the same for black America: government support provides only enough capital for subsistence, there is no opportunity for accrual of wealth, and it has trapped so many either or both mentally and physically in government share cropping.
So many of black constituents are ignorant about politics, most of them that I know and even some family members of mine, (i’m african american) live a conservative lifestyle yet they support democrats. An example, they are opposed of same sex marriages, they have jobs with health insurance. Yet! they are for the health care law, that Obama passed. All that will do is increase there taxes and help encourage stagnation amongst a majority of blacks. So many able body African american are able to work and pay for there own health care benefits. There is a deep rooted lie that democrats are for black folks when really they are not. I just wish more african americans would do there research. Many would be surprised to know that Martin Luther king Jr was a member of the GOP. In actuality a republican/ conservative’s point of views are more biblical. Essentially a conservative believes in making or creating your own way, they are not against aid but believe it to be temporary. I see the aid being manipulated, food stamps in the past, now vision cards abundantly are not used as they are intended. Go to most black barbershops and on the first and fifteenth you will often see vision card recipients trying to sale there cards. The black mentality here in america is sad. How can anyone attend a black church, where the pastor is a democrat?? That means that pastor supports homosexuality, abortions and even late term abortions; thats anti christ going against the bible. Sad
